Poblem unable to attend the event at St Lucia should run the competition as usual on Friday, March 15th. August 19th — September 20th Finals and activities program: Schools are encouraged to enter two or more teams in the Round 1, and up to two teams in Round 2 or the Regional Finals.

The programs are open to Queensland students in years 10, 11 and 12, and teachers. The Year solvnig results are taken heavily into consideration in the choice of Queensland students to be offered places in the National Mathematics Summer Schoolheld in Canberra each January. July 15th — August 16th Regional Round: The week-long non-residential program is open to talented students who are going into Year 11 and have chosen to study Mathematics B and Mathematics C.

Experience Science Experience Science gives senior high school students an insight into studying solvinb at UQ and how science is applied in industry and everyday life. The challenge tests participants’ knowledge of intelligence, memory, emotions, sensations, movement, stress, ageing, sleep, Alzheimer’s disease and stroke.

Several programs are run each year. With the exception of the bigger regions Brisbane, the Gold and Sunshine Coasts only one team from the qualifying round will be entered in the State Finals. Experience Science gives senior high school students an insight into studying science at UQ and how science is applied in industry and everyday life. Teams consist of 3 students these can be any combination of students from years seven or year eight as long as there is at least one year seven student in the team.

Schools and local organisers convenors are able to choose dates which suit their local networks and events at any time within the dates indicated. In addition to the 2-hour competition, from 10ampm, there will also be professional development provided for teachers and a free light lunch.
